Lahore: Despite receiving billions in funding, Dolphin force fails to curb crimes
City Division remained on top spot with 74 murders.
LAHORE (Dunya News)- Stats show Dolphin force and PERU force have utterly failed in curbing soaring crime rate in Punjab’s provincial capital Lahore as 286 people were murdered in the first ten months of 2017.
As per details available with Roznama Dunya, 10 people lost their lives in robbery attempts.
City Division remained on top spot with 74 murders followed by Cantt Division with 69, Sadar Division with 59, Model Town Division with 32, Iqbal Town Division with 32 and Civil Lines Division with 22.
As far as theft-related incidents are concerned, Cantt Division remained most vulnerable area to robbers where a total of 11 cases were lodged. 4 cases were registered in Iqbal Town Division while three each in Civil Lines Division, Model Town Division and City Division whereas only one case was filed in Sadar Division.
A total of 6607 cases-- under serious sections-- of crime against property, such as dacoity, robbery, car-snatching, car-lifting, motorcycle-snatching, motorcycle -lifting, other vehicle snatching, other vehicle lifting and burglary have been registered with different police stations of Lahore.
During aforementioned period, 1930 robbery attempts were made while 431 incidents of car-snatching and 3325 incidents of bike-snatching were reported.
It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab govt is pumping billions to enhance capabilities of PERU and Dolphin forces to curb soaring crimes in Lahore.
