Weapons hidden in cattle trucks being smuggled to Punjab
The authorities are considering to build temporary checkpoints in the province.
LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Weapons including bullets, hand grenades, time devices and spying instruments, secretly hidden in the heavy trailers and trucks carrying cattle for Eid-ul-Azha, are being smuggled to Punjab.
It was exposed that the movement of terrorists’ facilitators and other suspicious people has increased in the province while the trucks owners are also in contacts with the banned outfits.
Sources told that the sacrificing animals are being sent to the cattle markets in Lahore, Mianwali, Muridke, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Sharaqpur, Narowal, Shakargarh and others.
The security personnel also don’t check them properly while some crooked officers also take bribe for the release of these trucks.
On the other hand, three agents of truck that exploded near Saggian Bridge in Lahore have been arrested however, the truck’s owner is yet to be identified.
The authorities are considering to build temporary checkpoints in the province to halt the smuggling of the prohibited goods.
