Chasing a target of 281, Ravi Boparas superb knock of 96 helped England reach 270-8 with seven balls remaining before rain forced the players off the field for the third time in the innings.They did not reappear and the match was eventually abandoned as a draw because England was level with the par score in the Duckworth-Lewis reading, which is used to decide revised targets in rain-affected matches.It left the hosts with an unassailable 2-0 lead in the five-match series heading into the final game, at Cardiff, on Friday.England had already beaten India 4-0 in the test series and won a one-off Twenty20 match by six wickets.Earlier, Suresh Raina (84) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (78 not out) put on a flamboyant fifth-wicket stand of 169 as the Indians put into bat for the fourth straight match set a competitive target in search of a first win in any format this summer.
