Vitori, Sibanda, Taibu clinch win for Zimbabwe

Dunya News

Zimbabwe grabbed 2-0 series lead over Bangladesh with 7-wicket win in 2nd of five ODIs in Harare.

Batting first, Bangladesh were dismissed for 188, once again enduring a terrible start as Brian Vitori followed up one five-wicket haul on debut with another, returning five for 25 as the tourists were reduced to 58 for six in the 19th over.Nasir Hossain then struck 63 in 92 balls and Abdur Razzak added a useful 39 in support before two wickets from Elton Chigumbura and one apiece for Chris Mpofu and Prosper Utseya ended the innings in 47.3 overs. While Brendan Taylor has made a successful start to his term as captain in terms of results, he has thus far struggled with the bat since switching from Tests to ODIs and he fell cheaply when he was caught by Shahriar Nafees off Shafiul Islam for three.Vusi Sibanda registered his second half-century in as many games, making 67 and Hamilton Masakadza made 38 to get the innings back on track. And although both were dismissed, Mohammad Ashraful and Mahmudullah respectively, an unbeaten 61 from Tatenda Taibu saw Zimbabwe home with more than five overs in hand.
