Dhoni hits second-slowest fifty for India in ODIs

Dunya News

Dhoni surpassed Sourav Ganguly's record who hit a 105-ball fifty against Sri Lanka in 2005.

NORTH SOUND (Dunya News) – Former India Captain MS Dhoni registered country’s second-slowest fifty in the fourth ODI against West Indies when he took 108 balls to reach the mark at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.

Dhoni surpassed Sourav Ganguly’s record who hit a 105-ball fifty against Sri Lanka in 2005, and is third in the list now. Ganguly also consumed 104 balls to score a half-century against Bangladesh in 2007.

Although MS showed immense patience to score his fifty, but the effort went in vain as West Indies stunned India by 11 runs on Sunday.

It is pertinent here to mention that Sadagoppan Ramesh holds the record for India for hitting the slowest half-century. The left-handed batsman scored 50 off 116 balls against Kenya in 1999.
