Hardik Pandya blames teammates on Twitter
The 23-year-old was infuriated after his run out in the final.
LONDON (Web Desk) – After losing the final of ICC Champions Trophy at The Oval against Pakistan, India all-rounder Hardik Pandya took to Twitter and blamed his own teammates on the humiliating defeat.
Pandya, who was the only batsman to resist against the deadly bowling attack of Pakistan, was eventually run out due to a miscommunication between himself and Ravindra Jadeja.
The 23-year-old was infuriated after his dismissal, and he even exchanged some words with his partner before leaving the crease in extreme anguish.
Hardik Pandya later wrote on Twitter "Hume to apno ne loota, gairo me kahan dum tha (We were looted by our own, why blame others)."
The tweet, which was later deleted by him, was perhaps hinting at Jadeja who not only refused a possible single, but also not sacrificed his wicket for the well set Pandya, who was playing at 76 off 43.
The other victim of Pandya’s veiled criticism might be Jasprit Bumrah who claimed the wicket of Fakhar Zaman early in the innings, but on a no-ball. Zaman was batting at three when he got the lucky chance, and ended up scoring his maiden century.
