Ahmed Shehzad remained top scorer with 54 off 40 balls with 3 sixes

DUBAI (Dunya News) - Quetta Gladiators defeated Karachi Kings by six wickets and with six balls to spare in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) second edition playoff. 

Ahmed Shehzad and Asad Shafiq held a 105-run partnership to give a good start to the side with both scoring fifties while chasing a target of 155. Ahmed Shehzad remained top scorer and Man of the Match winner with 54 off 40 balls with 3 sixes and 4 fours.

Asad Shafiq too got a half-century but fell shortly after the fall of two consecutive wickets. The star right-hand batsman and English cricketer Kevin Pietersen returned to the pavilion having no ball faced as he was run out.

Karachi Kings bowlers had no luck with Sohail Khan picking the two wickets after the opening partnership. However, Quetta Gladiators bowled well as Mahmudullah took three wickets by giving away just 21 runs.

The batting by Karachi lacked partnerships and they were restricted for 154 runs. Babar Azam, Kumar Sangakkara, Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard all got starts but were failed to convert them in big scores as they just scored 36, 28, 29 and 31 respectively.

The Quetta boys were guided to victory by Sarfraz Ahmed and Mahmudullah who scored 19 and 8 respectively and took the team total to 158 for the lose of four wickets.
