Cricket: Pakistan beat Ireland in women world cup qualifiers
Nahida Khan and Javeria Khan scored fifties as Pakistan won by 86 runs
COLOMBO (Dunya News) - Pakistan Women s Cricket Team recorded the first win in the super sixes stage of the world cup qualifiers as they defeated Ireland by 86 runs, reported Dunya News.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. They had lost the last match against Sri Lanka but fought back hard and posted a huge total of 271/5 on the board.
Javeria Khan scored 90 whereas Nahida Khan scored 72 to make major contributions. Nain Abidi was another prominent comtributor with 44 runs off 51 balls.
Pakistani bowlers did not allow Irish women to settle down and kept taking wickets in regular intervals. The Irish side was bowled out for 185 in 48.5 overs as Nashra Sandhu, Sana Mir and Sadia Yousuf got two wickets each.
Pakistan will play last match of the super sixes stage against arch rivals India on 19 February.
