Intikhab Alam says he will serve a legal notice to Imran Nazir, said it was a conspiracy against him
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Director International Cricket Affairs Intikhab Alam has rejected the allegations by Test cricketer Imran Nazir and says that he will serve a legal notice to Imran Nazir. He said that Imran was conspiring against him, Dunya News reported.
Talking to Dunya News on Sunday, Intikhab Alam said that Imran Nazir was lying about him. He said that Imran Nazir should have some fear of God. “I never asked for commission”, he said. He said that no single person is responsible for giving someone a No Objection Certificate (NOC). “Decision of sending players abroad is taken by the board. I will talk to my lawyer about these allegations by Imran Nazir”, he said.
Earlier, talking in Dunya News program ‘Yeh Hai Cricket Dewangi’, Imran Nazir alleged that Intikhab Alam had tried to strike a deal with him when he asked for an NOC for playing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Imran Nazir had said that the people of Pakistan must know about the wrong people in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“Players have to lick the boots of Director Domestic just to get an NOC and the players cannot say anything against the bigwigs because they know that these people will then try to hurt their careers”, Imran Nazir had said.
Former Test cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz had said on this occasion that former chief Selector of PCB had also made similar accusations against Intikhab Alam. He said that an independent inquiry of the matter must be held and officers of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) should be involved in that inquiry.
