Pakistan keen to enhance ties with Azerbaijan: Kakar

Pakistan intends to boost economic ties with Azerbaijan, says Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

“Pakistan thinks it important to raise economic relations between the two countries at a higher level,” newly appointed Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Inayatullah Kakar said. “At present, the political relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan are at the highest level, the diplomat said. Pakistan was one of the first countries recognizing Azerbaijans independence.”The diplomat said the Pakistani government makes tremendous efforts in this direction. However, he regretted the low level of economic cooperation between the countries. He said the current trade turnover of $10 million for January-August does not meet the existing potential.He said that the diplomatic missions next plans are to hold the days of culture, to familiarize the Azerbaijani public with Pakistans art and culture.
