Weekly inflation rate surges to 16.2pc

Inflation rate has been further increased as prices of daily items are on the rise. Inflation for the current week has reached 16.2 percent.

According to provisional figures of Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS), average 0.40 percent increase in the inflation rate has been recorded. According to the report, tomato price recorded the most hike as compared to last year’s rates. Tomato price has been increased by 75 percent.Moong pulse increased by 66 percent, red chili by 62 percent, ghee by 45 percent and garlic increased by 36 percent. During the week, 23 items prices were increased while 8 items prices were declined and 22 items prices remained unchanged.
