How to get fresh currency notes before Eid-ul-Fitr
Any subscriber can place request to nearby designated branch specified by the central bank.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Like previous years, the State Bank of Pakistan has this time again decided to distribute new currency notes through SMS service starting from June 11. This initiative will make it easy for people to obtain fresh currency notes ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Any subscriber can place request to nearby designated branch specified by the central bank.
To avail new currency notes, just send an SMS to 8877 by adding the code of nearby bank branch and your CNIC number. In return, you will receive an SMS containing redemption code, e-branch address and the code validity period.
Redemption code received by the customer will be valid for two working days as per the mentioned dates in the SMS. The customer may then approach the concerned e-branch along with his/her original CNIC/Smart Card, a photocopy of the CNIC/Smart Card and transaction code received from 8877 to obtain fresh currency notes.
An individual can obtain three (03) packets of R10 and one (01) packet each of Rs50 and Rs100 as per availability of stock.
