Federal, provincial ministers bound to review implementation of NFC award after 6 months

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal government summoned the session of the National Finance Commission (NFC) after 16 months. The two-day NFC session shall take place in Lahore on September 5-6, reported Dunya News.

The last NFC session took place in April 2015. Governments of Sindh and Balochistan have yet not given any response related to taking part in the meeting. The provincial representatives shall renew their recommendations regarding the revenues obtained from the federal government in the session.

According to Article 160-B-3 of the constitution, provincial and federal finance ministers were bound to review the implementation of the NFC award after every six months along with presenting their reports in this regards in the national and provincial assemblies.

Earlier, sessions regarding reviewing the distribution of resources through the NFC award and the approval of the report related to it took place twice a year but the session was now being summoned after 16 months.
