Pakistan signs Trade Facilitation agreement of WTO
Pakistan is the first country in the South Asia to have signed the pact
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has signed an agreement with the World Trade Organization (WTO) to benefit from the organisation’s facilities to better trade in light of geographical position and routes.
A notification issued by the WTO states that Pakistan would have to speed up its trade and take steps for pacy clearance of products. Pakistan is the first country in the South Asia to sign the Trade Facilitation agreement of the international organization.
Overall, the agreement has made Pakistan the 51st country to have signed the pact.
In the recent past, Pakistan has also signed International Transport of Goods agreement of the United Nations Organisation (UNO). Following the act, neighbouring countries are not required to pay customs and other taxes on transit trade.
