PARIS (AFP) - French online music streaming service Deezer is seeking to extend its reach in the US market with a new deal with American mobile phone operator Cricket Wireless.
Under the agreement announced Thursday, Deezer both acquired Cricket s streaming service Muze and replaced it as the online streaming service offered by the US mobile company.
The deal is the latest of Deezer s foray in the United States, after a partnership announced in September with audio system maker Sonos and the acquisition of podcast and radio content app Stitcher in October.
Deezer "will for the first time massively deploy its service through a mobile operator in the United States", the French group said in a statement.
