Summary Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the interception of the flotilla in international waters and the arrest of those onboard.
(Web Desk) - Israel has decided to deport members of the Global Sumoud Flotilla, who were detained while attempting to deliver aid to Gaza Strip, to Greece.
According to reports, the move has raised concerns among diplomatic and human rights circles. Initially, Israeli authorities had indicated that around 175 detainees would be transferred to Israel, but later, following arrangements with the Greek government, it was decided to send them directly to Greece.
Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the interception of the flotilla in international waters and the arrest of those onboard, calling it a violation of international law. He stated that obstructing humanitarian aid is an irresponsible act that demands immediate attention from the global community.
The foreign minister also called for the immediate release of all volunteers and aid workers aboard the flotilla, urging international bodies to take notice of actions that undermine international legal norms.
It is worth noting that a day earlier, Israeli naval speedboats surrounded and intercepted vessels of the flotilla at sea, leading to the detention of multiple individuals.
