US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held meeting with Saudi Arabia's foreign minister.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held crucial bilateral meetings in New York on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 66th General Assembly of the United Nations.Clinton first met for an hour and 15 minute meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal where they discussed various subjects, including the Palestinian-Israeli issue, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Iran, internal issues in the kingdom, the GCC and its security, and Afghanistan.A state department spokesperson said Clinton began by thanking the foreign minister for Saudi Arabias recent commitment of $200 million to assist the Palestinians. She also briefed him on efforts with the Quartet and others to try to bring the Israelis and Palestinians back to the negotiating table.On Syria, they shared common concern about the violence and Bashar al-Assads apparent unwillingness to listen to his own people, the spokesperson added.Clinton later met with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, where the two leaders also discussed the Palestinian-Israeli issue as well as terrorism and security concerns in Nigeria.
