A British judge has sentenced a former Taliban fighter to life in prison for trying to recruit undercover police officers for jihad in Afghanistan.Justice Richard Henriques called 54-year-old Munir Farooqi a very dangerous man in the sentencing Friday at northern Englands Manchester Crown Court.Farooqi was convicted on terrorism charges including soliciting to murder, distributing terrorist publications and engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism. Prosecutors said Pakistani-born Farooqi manned an Islamic bookstall in Manchester in hopes of enrolling holy warriors to attend terrorist training camps and fight overseas.The evidence against him included secretly recorded conversations by two undercover officers.
