Uproar on social media after Israeli soldier shoots Palestinian dead at point-blank range

LONDON - A horrific murder of a Palestinian man by an Israel soldier in the occupied West Bank town of Huwwara near Nablus has sparked outrage on social media.

A video widely shared on social media shows the Israeli soldier scuffling with the Palestinian man, identified as 22-year-old Ammar Mefleh, before pulling a gun and shot him dead at the point-blank range in the broad daylight.

The soldier fired four bullets that hit Mefleh’s upper body and he can be seen laying on the ground with wounds.
Husam Zomlot, the Palestine’s Head of Mission to the UK, said that Israeli solider also prevented medics from reaching the teenager and abducting his body.

Earlier this week, five Palestinian men were killed by Israeli forces in four separate incidents in the occupied West Bank.
Three men, including two brothers in their 20s, were gunned down near the cities of Ramallah and Hebron, reports said.

Here are the reactions to the murder of Mefleh;

Israel forces have long been criticised for illegal killings of Palestinians in the occupied region.
