China: Seven dead, 49 injured in road accident

The injured have been taken to a hospital where three of them are said to be in critical condition.

Seven people died and 49 others were injured after two passenger vehicles clashed Tuesday in east Chinas Jiangxi Province, said local traffic authorities.The accident took place around 3:20 pm on a section of National Highway 105 in the township of Datangbu in Xinfeng County, said a spokesman of the county government.The injured passengers, including three serious cases and 19 with minor injuries, have been rushed to hospital, said the spokesman.The cause of the accident is under investigation.
