Heavy rains raised water level in Khadakwasla dam near Indian city of Pune.
Officials released water from the dam into Mutha River leading to water logging in several areas of the city.More than 30 cars were submerged in the water that had overflowed from the river to the nearby road.Over 19,000 cusec of water was released from the dam to Mutha River as the water levels rose due to heavy rains.The irrigation department had to release the water from the dam, as water had reached more than the set 85 percent.The officials have warned people that more water could be released in the next few days if it continued to rain.By Tuesday evening the water reached the city roads that created panic among commuters and local residents.The owners of the cars that were submerged in water tried to take out their cars but only some of them could pull out the cars with the help of police.
