Battle between state forces and rebels in Misrata intensifies

Libyan rebels fired several rockets at Gaddafis forces in Misrata as battle intensified.

Rebels exchanged fire with state forces. Rockets were also fired from both sides.Rebels pushed towards Tripoli from the mountains to the southwest and from the coast to the east where they made scant progress advancing from their stronghold of Misrata.The rebels said that many soldiers of Qaddafi’s forces are joining them.
