Militants seize parts of a Yemeni city

Militants attacked a Yemeni provincial capital, seizing the entire neighborhoods of the city.

Al Qaida members were believed to be among the attackers in Wednesday’s raid.They are in control of several neighborhoods of Houta, the provincial capital of Lahj province, officials said.The officials also said that militants drove through some neighborhoods in the southern port city of Aden early on Wednesday, opening fire on security and forces.They had no further details. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorised to talk to the media.
