Workers evacuated as radiation soars in Fukushima nuclear plant

Public alarm is growing over widespread contamination from the Japanese nuclear disaster.

The workers trying to cool the atomic reactor to avoid a meltdown in the Fukushima nuclear plant have been evacuated. According to the officials, the level of radiation found in the leaked water in the turbine room was 10 million times higher than it should be for water inside the reactor.The authorities have also asked an evacuation from the people living in the 30 kilometres’ radius of the Fukushima nuclear plant. According to the Japans nuclear agency, level of radioactive iodine in the sea near the plant has been increasing continuously. However, sea beings are so far safe from the radiation. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is keeping an eye on the radiation level and its effects on edibles.
