US Vice President Joe Biden has asked Russia to improve its business climate.
Speaking before a capacity crowd at Moscow State University, US Vice President Joe Biden capped off his official visit to Russia on Thursday by telling the audience business development and investment were stunted by corruption and the lack of the rule of law in the country.It was the last event of Bidens three-day visit to the Russian capital in which he met with Russias ruling tandem, President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. In a speech wrapping up a visit aimed to bolster economic ties, Biden confirmed his and US Presidents determination to support Russias membership in the World Trade Organisation.Earlier in the day, Biden met separately with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, as well as with civil society leaders and prominent members of Russias beleaguered liberal political opposition sending a message that the United States is not ignoring critics who accuse Russias leaders of curtailing human rights.
