A 7.2 magnitude earthquake rocks Japan as officials issue a Tsunami warning.

According to an American geological survey, the magnitude of the earthquake that hit Japan was recorded at 7.2 on the Richter scale.The earthquake struck at 11:45 Japan standard time and the epicenter of the quake was 440 kilometers northeast from the capital Tokyo.An official at the National Police Agency said there was no information on damage from the quake so far and no causalities have been reported. On the other hand, the Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a tsunami warning.The JMA has advised the people living in the coastal areas not to head off coast towards the sea. Earthquakes are common in Japan, as the country accounts for about 20 percent of the worlds earthquakes of magnitude 6 or greater.
