Saudi Arabia ends iqama condition for mobile recharge

CITC has forwarded the directions to all the mobile companies

JEDDAH (Daily Dunya) - The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has announced that entering a user’s ID or iqama number, together with a prepaid card number, would not be mandatory to charge a cell phone’s credit.

CITC has forwarded the directions to all the mobile companies and will be applicable from October 27.

The iqama number was used by foreign residents and ID number by the Saudi citizens to recharge their mobile credit.
