Anti-govt. protests intensify in Libya

The series of anti-government protests in Libya continue and Egypt's new military rulers reinforced their border with Libya on Tuesday. After India, Libyan ambassadors in US and Bangladesh also resign from dictatorship; where as Libyan ambassador in US called on Gaddafi to step down.

As the protests in Libya intensify and violent, scores of refugees both of Egyptian and Libyan origin fled across the Egypt-Libya border into Egypt on Tuesday as they sought to escape what they described as a massacre. Libyan leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi said on Tuesday he would not step down despite a nationwide revolt against his rule. With the unrest continuing in Libya, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi simply refused to step down despite a nationwide revolt against his rule, vowing to die in Libya as a martyr. International media has claimed that after announcement, a crackdown against opposition has been initiated in the capital and other cities causing an increase in the death toll. Libyan ambassador in UN Ibrahim Dabbashi stated that this is the end of Gaddafi’s game and we are expecting something to protect the Libyan people to come out of the council.While on the other side, Libyan ambassadors in various countries are resigning one-by-one. After India, now Libyan ambassadors in US and Bangladesh have also resigned from dictatorship. Egypts armed forces said on Monday night that Libyan border guards had withdrawn and the Libyan side of the border was in control of peoples committees, without giving details about their allegiances.
