Some oppose Islamic Centre for their contemptible motives: Imam Rauf
Founder of the Islamic Centre which is to be built at Ground Zero, Faisal Abdul Rauf says some people are opposing the construction to fulfill their contemptible motives. He clarifies that Islam never allows to kill innocent people and extremists can be found in any religion.While talking to a press conference in New York Imam Faisal emphasized on the need for the moderate and liberal Muslims to get united. He re-memorized that in past Muslims, Christians and Jews lived together and its possible to be done again. He said he was 17 when he came to US and now he is totally an American and he feels proud of it. Imam Faisal thanked President Obama for backing the Mosque but he expressed sorrow at what happened recently against the construction of Islamic Centre.
