Millions of commuters across London have been struggling to get to and from work as a 24-hour strike by workers on the underground rail system crippled much of the network.Passengers took to bikes, buses and boats in an attempt to beat the stoppage.The Rail, Maritime and Transport union staged the action in protest at plans to cut 800 jobs.London's Chamber of Commerce estimates the strike will cost the UK's fragile economy 48 million pounds - that's almost 74 million dollars.
