Turkish president meets Indian PM

Visiting Turkish President Abdullah Gul met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in national capital New Delhi on Tuesday. Gul who is on a six-day visit to India, held delegation level talks with the Indian side. India and Turkey are expected to hold wide-ranging talks on bilateral, economic and political ties. The Civil nuclear cooperation is also expected to be discussed during the visit. The President, who met Indian foreign minister Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna earlier in the day will meet Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, chief of the federal ruling Congress party Sonia Gandhi and leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha (lower house of parliament) Sushma Swaraj.
