The White House has condemned Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's renewed dismissal of the Holocaust as ignorant and hateful. The White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs in a press briefing condemned the statement and said that such sort of statement could only serve to isolate Iran in the world. At Tehran University at the end of an annual anti-Israel rally, the Iranian leader had said, The pretext [Holocaust] for the creation of the Zionist regime [Israel] is false... It is a lie based on an unprovable and mythical claim. Confronting the Zionist regime is a national and religious duty, Ahmadinejad believed.
