Iran sends medical supplies and ambulances to Syria

Iran has dispatched a shipment of medical supplies and 15 ambulances to Damascus.

A third shipment of Iranian aid worth of $1.2 million arrived in Syria on Thursday, including 15 fully equipped ambulances and large quantities of medicines, the Syrian health minister said.Syrias Health Minster, Wael al-Halqi, said this shipment breaks a European-American siege imposed on Syria and secures more medical needs for Syrian patients.This shipment of equipment will break the european-American siege imposed on health sector as one of the service sectors in Syria. Also, it is going to secure all the medical emergency needs for the Syrian people in Syria, said al-Halqi.He added that the supplies will be available from Sunday (August 5) noting that another 20 ambulances will be delivered next week.Irans ambassador to Syria, Mohamad Rida Raouf Shibani, held a news conference with al-Halqi in Damascus on Thursday following the shipments arrivallment.Shibani said his country understands the Syrian crisis and knows what it means to live under sanctions.We understand the conflict that Syria is passing through very well, because Iran was living in siege imposed by arrogant forces in the world for three decades. This siege was transformed by Iranian peoples faith and their willingness to create creative opportunities which lifted them to the best levels of progress, Shibani told journalists.In the last few months, two food shipments estimated at 110 tonnes were delivered from Iran to Syria.The UN Supervision Mission in Syria announced on Wednesday (August 1) that people in Aleppo are in need of food, and medical supplies as well as shelters in schools and hospitals.
