Kandahar car blast kills 40

Above 40 people were killed in a car suicide attack in Kandahar Afghanistan on Wednesday night. Majority of the killed are Pakistanis. The eye-witnesses said that the blast occurred when a suicide attacker rammed an explosive-ridden vehicle into a marriage hall. Several buildings were reduced to debris after the blast. The window pans in the two kilometer radius of the blast were broken. The rescue teams have taken out the injured and shifted them to the hospitals. Forty five deaths have been confirmed so far. Kandahar Police Deputy Chief Fazal Ahmad Shahzad said that the marriage hall situated at the blast sight was caught into flames. He said that efforts were being made to pull out the injured. Member provincial council Haji Agha Lalai said that 40 shops and dozen of vehicles were destroyed in the blast.
