A video goes viral on social media, wherein a man who seeks alms can be seen buying an iphone set after making payment in coins.
An iphone is considered a status symbol in India where countless people live below the poverty line and struggle to have a square meal.
An Instagram channel has conducted an experiment during the course of which a man enters a shop with a sackful of coins. He is denied entry to some mobile phone shops but manages to enter one such place where he demands an expensive mobile phone.
The shopkeepers initially show reluctance but after some time, agree to sell the iphone to the beggar who offers payment in coins.
The video got immense feedback on social media where one of the users declared it “scripted”.
