A woman gave birth to son on 14-hour plane flight from Manila to San Francisco.

With just eight days before her son was due to be born, Aida Alamillo boarded a plane flying from Manila to San Francisco. But much to her and her fellow passengers surprise, Alamillo did not leave the plane alone. Her son, Kevin Ray Mar Francisco Domingo, was born during the flight.Despite the fact that she was so close to her due date, Alamillos doctor cleared her for travel and she said Philippine Airlines did not ask any questions when she boarded the flight.But a few hours before the plane was due to land, Alamillo said she asked the flight attendant a very prescient question.Alamillo went to the bathroom and saw she was bleeding and began to feel the pain of childbirth.Flight attendants brought her to a couch in business class and then asked passengers if there were any medical professionals who could help. Three nurses came forward. Alamillo says that within 15 minutes, her son was born.SFO Spokesperson Mike McCarron says an on-flight birth is very rare.Alamillo has three other children. But she says this childs birth was the easiest and the fastest. When her plane landed four hours later, paramedics were waiting to take her to the hospital.
