According to an online survey the image of astronaut Buzz Aldrin standing next to the US flag during the moon landing has been named as the most iconic photograph of the past century.The famous photo from 1969 has topped a survey beating V-J Day in Times Square by Alfred Eisenstaedt into second place. Other popular photographs included The Beatles ‘Abbey Road’ Cover, Marilyn Monroe ‘Billowing’ White Dress from The Seven Year Itch and Albert Einstein sticking his tongue out.The website noted that photographs make a huge impression on human life so it was interesting to know which images were considered to be the most iconic.
