Irked by poverty: Gujranwala man eating wood from past 25 years
50-year-old Mehmood Butt is a father of four children and eats fresh wood of trees.
GUJRANWALA (Daily Dunya) – A Gujranwala man who goes by the name of ‘Lakar Pehalwan’ is eating wood from the past 25 years.
50-year-old Mehmood Butt is a father of four children and eats fresh wood of trees.
He search for his favourite trees and eats from them. Mehmood says that he has neven fallen ill from eating the wood.
He is a vendor by profession and has adopted the practice due to the increasing poverty which later became his habit.
“There is too much poverty. Everything is beyond limit. How can I eat a meal then?” he asks.
His favourite wood is of Banyan, Tali and Sukh Chain trees.
The locals say that Mehmood has never begged for money but they are shocked that he never referred a doctor in such a long span.
