Skydivers in California set Guinness world record for wingsuit formation.

One hundred wingsuit skydivers form a diamond formation at 13,000ft over Perris Valley, California, during a world record attempt on Saturday. The team of specially-qualified skydivers set a Guinness world record for wingsuit formation skydiving, flying for more than two miles at speeds of up to 80mph. The group, whose members come from 21 different countries, jumped out of five separate planes above Perris Valley in Southern California on Saturday. This is the first wingsuit formation to be submitted to Guinness. A wingsuit consists of fabric stretched between a skydiver’s arms and legs which allows horizontal travel and slows the descent toward the ground. Anyone attempting a wingsuit flight must have a minimum of 200 skydives behind them. The event was organised in part by Raise the Sky, a non-profit organisation which brings elite skydivers into local schools to talk to children about teamwork, goal-setting and achievement, and facing fears, all within the context of human flight.
