Summary The upcoming feature will allow users to customize both chat wallpapers and message bubble colours.
(Web Desk) - WhatsApp Web is set to receive a major personalization update, as Meta rolls out nearly 50 new chat themes for desktop users.
The upcoming feature will allow users to customize both chat wallpapers and message bubble colours—bringing the web version closer to the mobile app experience.
The new themes include a wide variety of options, ranging from soft pastel tones to bold and vibrant colour schemes. Users will also find multiple shades within the same colour families, offering greater flexibility in customization.
Until now, WhatsApp Web lagged behind its mobile counterpart in terms of personalization, offering only basic light and dark modes.
Users will be able to access the new themes through the settings menu on WhatsApp Web. The feature will allow both global theme application and individual chat customization.
Importantly, these visual changes are private—only the user applying the theme can see them, while others in the chat will not be affected.
The feature has not yet been officially released and is still absent from the beta version. Meta has not announced a release date, but users can expect it to appear in upcoming WhatsApp Web beta updates.
