X outage in Pakistan enters fourth day

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The services of social media platform X, formerly Twitter, are still unavailable in the country for fourth consecutive day amid condemnation from various sections of society.
A website that monitors services of social media platforms said the microblogging site suffered outage at 9 pm on February 17.
Since then, the services were partially restored twice during the suspension. It was restored for more than half hour on Monday and for half an hour on Sunday. Later these were suspended again, leaving users distressed.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is shying away from giving response to reports regarding outage of the social media platform in the country.
In recent days after elections in the country, internet and social media services were disrupted for multiple times.
It is recalled that internet and mobile phone services had also been suspended on election day for security reasons.
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Commission Pakistan has demanded immediate restoration of X services in the country.
