MicroLEDs use less energy, offer high peak brightness values, color fidelity, deeper contrast ratio

(Web Desk) – Samsung and Apple are planning to move to MicroLED display instead of AMOLED display.

According to reports, Samsung Display is starting to manufacture MicroLED panels for smart watches. These panels which are currently only found in high-end TVs have better brightness and contrast ratio ratings than traditional AMOLED displays while also consuming less electricity.

The most recent rumor claimed that Apple will develop an internal MicroLED display for a future Watch Ultra wearable.

MicroLED screens use less energy than AMOLED counterparts while offering higher peak brightness values, better color fidelity and deeper contrast ratios. Simply by switching to MicroLED displays from AMOLED ones, Apple and Samsung may be able to deliver smart watches with longer battery lives.
