German court has dismissed Apple lawsuit seeking to ban sale of Motorola's Xoom tablet in EU.

In its case, Apple Inc claimed the Motorola product infringed its intellectual property because its design was too similar to the iPad.In its verdict Tuesday, the court in the western city of Duesseldorf also rejected a request by Google-owned Motorola to declare Apples so-called Community design rights for the iPad invalid.Community design rights are meant to protect the distinctive appearance of industrial products.Apple and Motorola have clashed repeatedly over intellectual property issues.The companies have 30 days to appeal the verdict to a higher court.
