The father of mountaineer Shehroze Kashif has appealed to the government to start rescue mission.

GILGIT (Dunya News) - The young Pakistan mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, who summit Nanga Parbat in on Tuesday morning, went missing as he lost contact with the track, his father revealed.

Shehroze, who became the youngest mountaineer to successfully summit the ninth highest peak in the world – Nanga Parbat, lost contact with the track on his way back from the mountain.

“Shehroze Kashif has lost contact with the track. It is a very challenging time for us,” Shehroze’s father stated.

“We were in touch with him through a tracker up to an altitude of 7350 feet. After that, there is no contact with Shehroze and his fellow mountaineer Fazal Ali,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that young Pakistan mountaineer Shehroze Kashif on Tuesday became the youngest climber to summit Nanga Parbat, located in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nanga Parbat is 8126 meters long while it is the eighth highest peak in the world. The 20-year-old climber achieved this feat on Tuesday morning.

Shehroze, who already holds the record for being the youngest mountaineer to reach the summit of Mount Everest and K2, has now ascended his eighth peak above 8000 meters with this summit.

Secretary Alpine Club of Pakistan Karrar Haidri confirmed the Nanga Parbat summit by Kashif Tuesday morning and congratulated the young mountaineer for his remarkable achievement.

Karrar also extended best wishes to the young mountaineer in his quest to become the youngest climber to summit 14 peaks above 8000 meters.
