China has sacked speed skating team coach over brawl with Olympic gold medal winner Wang Meng.

Chinas sports authorities have sacked the coach of the countrys speed skating team over a brawl with three-time Olympic gold medal winner Wang Meng, state media said on Tuesday.The General Administration of Sport said Wang Chunlu, herself a former Olympic bronze medallist, was responsible for problems in the team and had been removed from her post as a result.Earlier this month Wang Meng, 26, was dropped from the team and banned from national and international competition for punching the coach during a drunken row after she returned late to a training camp following a night out.We realised that there were a lot of problems in the management of the team and senior officials... The team manager is responsible for that, said a statement from the winter sports administration centre.
