Chris Tremlett will miss Wednesdays third Test against India at Edgbaston because of a back injury.England had already included Steven Finn in the squad as pace-bowling cover for Tremlett, who also missed the second-Test victory at Trent Bridge last week after suffering tightness in his hamstring and then back spasms. The Surrey bowler was unable to practise this week.An England and Wales Cricket Board update on Tuesday morning confirmed he will not be available, and added he will receive ongoing treatment ahead of the fourth Test. The captain, Andrew Strauss, added: Im sad for Chris, he has got a bit of a bulging disc in his back. It should be cleaning up sooner rather than later, but Im going to have to monitor him in the coming days.Tim Bresnan got a chance [in the second Test] because Chris, who had done brilliantly, had got injured. Tim took his chance and now Ravi Bopara has got the opportunity to do something similar in this Test.Meanwhile officials have said the Edgbaston Test will go ahead as planned, despite Monday nights disorder in Birmingham.
