Pakistan wins first SAARC baseball championship

Pakistan has won the first SAARC baseball championship after defeating Sri Lanka on Sunday.

In the final league match of the tournament at Punjab stadium Lahore, Pakistan won by scoring eight runs in response to Sri Lanka’s two.Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the first innings. Sri Lanka scored two runs in the second innings while Pakistan couldn’t score any. None of the teams could score a run in the third and fourth innings. Pakistan scored 5 runs in the fifth innings and took the command of the game. At the end of the ninth innings, Pakistan had scored 8 runs while Sri Lankans were 6 runs adrift.Pakistan was declared winner of the tournament for not losing a single match.Four teams took part in the tournament including Nepal and Afghanistan.
