Asian Hockey Champions Trophy: Pakistan shares title with India thanks to rain

The final match was abandoned due to heavy rain in Muscat.

 

(Dunya News) – Pakistan and India have been declared joint champions of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2018 on Sunday because the final match could not start well on time as a long spell of heavy rain hit the venue on in Muscat, Oman.

As a result a Toss had decided that India would keep the trophy for the first half, after that it would be handed over to Pakistan.
Pakistan team has landed on Karachi airport today (Monday) where players  relatives and fans gave a warm welcome to them.

 

While talking to media at the airport head coach Hassan Sardar said that this victory will keep the team’s morale high.

He said that if sufficient funds are not provided, it would be hard to arrange national training camp in Lahore to prepare players for the World Cup being held in India next year.
