Tickets sales of the World Cup matches scheduled in Kolkata have dropped significantly. A large number of tickets are yet to be sold.

After the match between England and India was moved from Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata to Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, the ticket sales for the rest of the scheduled matches in Kolkata have dropped significantly. The match between England and India was shifted from the Eden Garden Stadium to Bangalore because of the ongoing renovation at the stadium. After Ireland’s victory over England, Bengal Cricket Association has decided to resume the tickets sales to the Eden Gardens Stadium as the renovation work is completed. There are three matches scheduled at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The first match scheduled is on the 15th of March between Ireland and South Africa. The second match is on the 18th between Ireland and Netherlands. The last match scheduled at the stadium is on the 20th between Zimbabwe and Kenya.A large number of tickets for these matches are yet to be sold and due to the drop in sales, a sellout is not expected. This is partially because none of the matches scheduled at the stadium are of the big teams.
