MUMBAI (Dunya News) – Indian boxer Vijender Singh, who won the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight belt against his Chinese counterpart, is being criticized by fellow countrymen for his peace gesture with China.

Vijender Singh, an Olympic medalist, defeated China’s Zulpikar Maimaitiali on Saturday and dedicated his victory to India-China friendship. Singh also offered to return the championship back to Maimaitiali.

The Chinese boxer has not yet responded to the offer made by Vijender Singh, but the latter is being strongly criticized by the people in India.

It is worth mentioning here that both India and China have been involved in a tense border stand-off in a disputed area since June.
